Camping World to sponsor developmental series: Camping World, the country's largest RV and outdoor retailer, will become the title sponsor for NASCAR's top developmental series -- the long-standing Grand National Division, East and West Series. As the new title sponsor, Camping World looks to continue the tradition of developing talented young drivers that aspire to go on and excel in the highest levels of NASCAR racing. Recent enhancements to the series included a schedule with an expanded geographic reach, new competition and cost-containment initiatives such as the new "spec engine" and composite body, and a lowered age-limit to 16 for drivers. Through the years the series has helped launch the careers of Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr. and David Gilliland, along with two-time championship crew chief Greg Zipadelli.(NASCAR.com)(12-17-2007)

Randy MacDonald has seen it all in NASCAR, driving in all three of the elite series'. The newly designed MacDonald Motorsports is now what Randy has always wanted, a true driver development program in the Nationwide Series. Currently using DJ Kennington, the organization looks to be a launching pad for young drivers and crew members into the premier series.
DJ Kennington will continue to race with the team until he heads back to Canada for the CASCAR Series. Once that season concludes he will return to the states in the later part of the Nationwide Series.
MacDonald Motorsports is using that same philosphy in sponsorship as it does for its driver and crew members. With several companies now seeing the rising costs of full-time sponsorship, MacDonald sees this as an opportunity to introduce them back into the sport as well as new entities.
With the every growing publicity of the sport and few rides to land on, MacDonald Motorsports, appears to be heading in the right direction, with a new philosphy that will allow the organization, drivers, crew members and sponsorships and the series to return to its roots as a developmental platform
